Head Boy, Head Girl and Deputies

 

John Boden - Head Boy

1.  What Primary School did you attend?

I am a former pupil of Donaghey Primary School

2.  What subjects did you choose for A Levels?

I am currently studying Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Further Mathematics. I also completed an AS in Biology last year. 

3.  What are your hobbies and interests?

Music is a particular interest of mine and I enjoy playing the piano as a pastime and also within my church. I am a member of a local brass band where I play the Euphonium and I also represent my school on the badminton team. I always love to go outside and enjoy a scenic walk through the fields surrounding my house.

4.  Third level aspirations?

Upon completing my A Levels here at Cookstown High School, it is my intention to study a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast.

 

Head Girl - Rebekah Hill

1.  What Primary School did you attend?

Cookstown Primary School

2  What subjects did you choose for A Levels?

For A levels I am studying Biology, Chemistry and Religious Education.

3.  What are your hobbies and interests?

I absolutely love sport and from a very young age I have played hockey and have loved it! I also love music and play the piano in the praise band of my church.

4.  Third level aspirations?

I would love to someday make it to university, either in Belfast or over the water in Scotland. At this moment in time I am not 100% set on the course I want to study at third level education.

 

Lewis Dornan – Deputy Head Boy

1.  What Primary School did you attend?

I attended Cookstown Primary School.

2.  What subjects did you choose for A Levels?

I study Mathematics, Physics, Geography and Chemistry.

3.  What are your hobbies and interests?

I have always enjoyed helping other people and I particularly enjoy organising fundraising events to raise money for worthwhile causes. In my spare time I like to spend time outdoors exploring the countryside.

4.  Third level aspirations?                                                           

After I complete my A-levels here at the High School, my intention is to read Applied Mathematics and Physics at Queen’s University Belfast.

 

Rebecca McKeown – Deputy Head Girl

1.  What Primary School did you attend?

I am a former pupil of Cookstown Primary School.

2.  What subjects did you choose for A Levels?

I am currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Nutrition and Food Science.

3.  What are your hobbies and interests?

Sport is one of my main hobbies, as I have dedicated myself to playing hockey throughout my entire time at CHS, and I am currently the vice-captain of the girls 1st XI hockey team.

4.  Third level aspirations?

After I have completed my A Levels I intend to study Biomedical Sciences with Pathology at the Ulster University campus in Coleraine.

 

Robert Turkington – Deputy Head Boy

1.  What Primary School did you attend?

I’m a former pupil of Cookstown Primary School

2.  What subjects did you choose for A Levels?

Maths, Physics and Biology

3.  What are your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy all aspects of sports and previously played rugby, football and athletics. Hockey has played a large part of my school life starting from first year to eventually making it to the 1st XI school hockey team as well as representing my town on Saturdays.

4.  Third level aspirations?

Once I complete my A-levels I hope to join one of the four big accounting firms for an apprenticeship or go to university for a maths related degree.

 

Emma Crozier - Deputy Head Girl

1.  What Primary School did you attend?

Donaghey Primary School.

2.  What subjects did you choose for A levels?

Biology, Physics and Religious Education

3.  What are your hobbies and interests?

Within school I have a great interest in sport, I play on the hockey, netball and badminton teams which has allowed me the opportunity to mix with my peers and develop essential skills in a fun and interactive setting. I am also part of the choir and Scripture Union. In my free time I enjoy doing art and spending time with my friends. I also am very involved in church and youth work, volunteering at camps during the summer.

4.  Third level aspirations?

My aspiration is to study Primary Education at Stranmillis university in Belfast.
