U13 XI share Mid Ulster Cup
On Monday the U 13 XI embarked on their last match of the season in the final of the Mid Ulster cup.
In this match they faced a very strong Armagh Royal side. The game started at a very fast pace with both teams having great chances. Emma Crozier and Sarah Laughlin made some strong clearances in defence, whilst Rebecca McKeown and Megan Holdsworth had some shots go wide. The midfield worked tirelessly in this end to end match and Cookstown were awarded with a short corner which saw Erin Anderson drill home an unstoppable shot. 1-0 at half time.
In the 2nd half Armagh Royal came out hard and had some great shots but Megan Ferson in goals was having the game of her season and letting nothing in. Cookstown broke several times and Hannah Haycock caused some problems up the right wing putting in some great crosses. The last 2 minutes saw Armagh come back and equalise with a well taken forward move.
After a strong performance from both sides the girls decided to share the Mid Ulster Cup. A lovely end to a successful season.
