The role of an Environmental Health Practitioner
AS Nutrition and Food Science students enjoyed finding out about the role of an Environmental Health Practitioner from a visiting speaker this morning.
Dorcas studied ‘A’ level Home Economics at Cookstown High School before moving on to study BSc (Hons) Environmental Health at the University of Ulster. She is currently in her third year, undertaking two placements. She spends 3 days a week in the Estates Department of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, inspecting the hospitals and their functionality and is based in the Mid Ulster Council for the remaining 2 days a week. Dorcas’ talk focused on the role of an Environmental Health Practitioner, employment prospects and her degree course.
