Loughry College speakers
Year 13 Nutrition & Food Science pupils enjoyed a visit from Liz Simpson and Alan Johnston, lecturers at Loughry College. They spoke about the diversity of career options within the food industry, routes into this employment sector and courses available at Loughry.
Food graduates remain in high demand and with the food sector recognised as ‘extremely important to the Northern Ireland economy’, there is an urgent need to address the skills gap facing the food and drink industry at management level. It was particularly inspiring to see the number of our past pupils who have secured very successful careers within the agri-food industry following their higher education at Loughry College and to explore the career paths which they have taken.
