King and Queen Consort in Belfast

14th Sep 2022
Yesterday, a cross-section of Year 8 pupils (14 in all) accompanied Dr Kane and Mr Williamson to see the new King and Queen consort on their visit to Northern Ireland.

It turned out to be an eventful day. Firstly, the pupils visited the City Hall and signed the book of condolence for the Queen. After laying flowers at the cenotaph and eating their lunch the pupils then waited in an orderly fashion to see the new King coming up Donegall Square North. Patiently the pupils waited with anticipation and excitement. Finally at around 2:45 the new King came by waving out of the window as the cavalcade went slowly passed the City Hall.

To complete our day, one of the pupils was interviewed by the BBC (which was aired later on BBC Newsline).

What a momentous day which all the pupils will remember for the rest of their lives.
