On Saturday 1st June, Year 10 Pupil Nicholas took part in the All Ireland Athletics Championships in Tullamore. He was taking part alongside all of Ireland’s top athletes so all we were hoping for was that Nicholas would finish in the top six and we certainly didn’t leave disappointed!
Nicholas was also competing for his first time in the Junior Boys 800m. Nicholas has been plagued with injury as of late so we were simply hoping that he would complete the race unscathed. But Nicholas had other ideas and just completing the race wasn’t an option. He didn’t let the race leaders out of his sight and remained hot on their heels to the very end. This was enough to secure him an All-Ireland Bronze Medal in a fantastic time of 2 minutes 5 seconds. Well done Nicholas on this unbelievable achievement.
