Ferris Cup Final
Well done to the U14 Boys Hockey team on their performance yesterday in the Ferris Cup final against Banbridge Academy.
In front of a large, enthusiastic crowd the Cookstown boys showed some nerves due to the big occasion and were put under massive pressure by a very strong Banbridge team. They were 2-0 down at half time and it looked like there was no way back for them. However the boys showed great determination and spirit and from the start of the second half took the game to Banbridge. This fighting attitude resulted in Cookstown getting back into the match with goals coming from Max Wylie and Harry Gates, with the final score being 3-2 to Banbridge.
We are all very proud of the attitude shown by the boys and in making the final have secured a place in the All Ireland Championships which take place at Friends School Lisburn on Wednesday the 10th of April. Here the top 5 teams in Ireland compete in a round robin tournament for the prestigious John Waring trophy.
