31 Cross Country runners from Cookstown High travelled to Necarne Estate in Irvinestown to take part in the E-District School’s Cross Country Championships. 30 schools took part in the event with many athletes from each school braving the elements to compete. Every single participant from Cookstown High completed their race, with 4 pupils finishing in the top 15. These pupils were as follows:
Nick Griggs Intermediate Boys 1st place
Hugo Cleary-McGuffin - Intermediate Boys - 3rd place
Jamie Shepherd - Junior Boys - 9th place
Andrew Shaw - Senior Boys - 12th place
All 4 of these boys have now qualified for the Ulster Championships which take place at Mallusk playing fields next Wed 12th February.
Well done to all competitors and good luck to the 4 boys who will compete in the Ulster Championships next week.
