Year 13 AS Nutrition and Food Science students enjoyed a visit from a past pupil, Gillian Abernethy. Gillian now works as a full-time paediatric dietitian specialising in complex needs and diabetes in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast.
Pupils enjoyed hearing about Gillian’s career path, her degree course and a ‘day in the life of a dietitian’. As a result, they now have a sound understanding of the role of the dietician within a multidisciplinary medical team and the career opportunities available to dieticians.
