Christmas Card competition

13th Dec 2019

For the last numbers of years as part of our House games, pupils in Year 8 -10 have been tasked with designing a Christmas Card in conjunction with the Motor Neurones Disease Association.

Each year the MND Charity run a Christmas Card competition and we have entered our Christmas card designs over the last number of years. Last year, Year 10 pupil Ella-Jane McCullough was very successful with her card design, winning the aged 10 -16 category. Her card has since been published and sold by MND to raise money for this very worthy charity. Her card was so nice that it is completely sold out on their website.

This year, we once again chose the 3 best cards from each of our 4 houses to be sent off to the MND charity. Most of these should be available to view on the MND website over the next few days. Our PTFA has also kindly offered to make a donation to this charity on our behalf.

All 12 of our best cards can be seen on our website and Facebook site. Each pupil who took part has received Achievement points for their efforts.

The best card from each House was selected and the winners were:

Sarah Fulton (Yr 9) – Killymoon

Codie Newell (Yr 8) – Coolnafranky

Jodie Bayne (Yr 9) – Lissan

Jodie Forsythe (Yr 8) – Drum

The overall winner, as voted by the school, was Codie Newell in Year 8 for her very colourful and detailed Christmas card of a lovely Robin.

Well done to all pupils for taking part and good luck to all those who have been entered into the MND Association Christmas card competition. Hopefully they will be as successful as Ella-Jane was last year.
