AS

Since 2008, pupils complete the revised AS qualification following the CCEA specification (French) and Edexcel specification (German & Spanish).  Pupils study a broad spectrum of contemporary themes which are tested through Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing modules and have further opportunities to develop their presentation skills.

A2

The CCEA French specification and/or Edexcel German/Spanish specification is continued. Pupils study a wide range of contemporary issues and further develop their competence and fluency in the four skills.  For the Edexcel specification pupils will concentrate on their communication skills and development of language eg. the language used for debate.  In this specification there is no listening component at A2 level.  Literary texts and/or film are studied at A2 level in all three languages.
