Cookstown Hockey Club Under 13 team success The Cookstown Under 13 boys hockey team won the double by lifting the Ulster Mercian Under 13 Cup to add to the Ulster Schools Bannister Bowl. The boys have now won the main trophies over the past 3 years - the NI Primary Schools Pearson Cup in 2005, the Mercian Ulster Under 12 Cup in 2006, and now the Bannister Bowl and Mercian Ulster 13 Cup in 2007. In the Bannister Bowl they defeated Kilkeel ‘B’ 10 -0, Grosvernor GS 6-0, Banbridge 5-1, Regent 13-3 before defeating Friends School 4-2 in the final. In the Mercian Ulster Under 13 Cup they defeated Armagh 10-0, Portadown 8-0, a walk over Omagh, before defeating North Down 4-1 and Banbridge 3-1 at the finals day. The boys are coached by Martin Sloan and Michael Millar from Cookstown Hockey Club and by Cookstown High School teacher Michael Haycock. Front row (left to right)
