Three Cookstown High School pupils selected onto N. Ireland Netball Squad
posted 26 Sept 2006

Three girls from Cookstown high school were selected for N. Ireland national netball squads on 9th and 10th September.

Lisa and Gail were both selected onto the U19 N. Ireland squad and Kyla was selected onto the U17 N. Ireland netball squad. Both squads will be in training for the European Championships next April which are being held in Malta.

Lisa had a very successful year last year making the full N. Ireland Senior Netball Team as well as the U19's, playing in both European Championships and also the world qualifiers for Fiji. Her younger sister, Kyla, also was selected for the U17 N. Ireland team and went to the European Championships were they came 2nd overall. Both these talented sisters came from Magherafelt but are currently at Cookstown High School studying for their A levels.

This is Gail's first time to be selected onto a N. Ireland squad and as she has made the U19's squad having not yet turned 17 a remarkable achievement for one so young.

Congratulations for all three High School pupils.
