A hat trick of hat tricks in opening win. Cookstown High School U13’s 13 - 0 R.B.A.I. U13’s The team travelled to Queen’s University, Belfast to play against R.B.A.I. in their first match of the season. Cookstown started slowly but once they found their past form they were unstoppable. By half time the score was 8-0 with goals from Sloan (3), Watt (2), Millar (2) and McWhirter (1). In the second half Cookstown started to pass well but they were struggling to find the net. Then the goals started coming once again with Millar, Sloan, McAllen and Crawford all creating chances. In the end it finished 13-0 with second half goals from Sloan (2), Watt (1) and Millar (2). First-rate defensive displays by Hamilton, Robinson, Cheevers, Elliott, Year 8’s Crooks and Thom, and goalkeeper Reilly made sure the team’s goal kept intact. Also praise to forwards McWhirter, Watt, McCrea and Crawford for their contribution to the team. The boys would like to thank Mr. Haycock for coaching the team and Mrs. Sloan for umpiring. Team: Reilly (GK) , Robinson, Elliott, Hamilton, Cheevers, Sloan (Captain), McAllen, Millar, Crawford, Watt, McWhirter, McCrea, Thom, Crooks. |
