Senior Netball Team Win Another Trophy Over the winter they have been playing in the Northern Ireland School ’s Cup and League and have been doing very well. They have won all of their cup matches having last week defeated Friends School , Lisburn 29 - 23 in the 3 rd round. They are now through to the quarter finals of the School’s Cup for the 4 th successive year and they will meet Sacred Heart, Omagh, last years all-Ireland senior champions. In the Northern Ireland League they have played the top schools in the Southern Board area and have defeated Portadown College , Lurgan College , St Michael’s Lurgan and Sacred Heart, Newry. They lost to Banbridge Academy . This meant that for the second year in succession they had qualified for the Southern Area finals. Here they again met Banbridge and after a fantastic match Cookstown emerged as champions winning 36 - 29. This is the first time that the High School has won the Southern Area League and have qualified for the quarter finals of the Northern Ireland League. Team: Grace W (Captain), Hannah F, Sheryl B, Lisa B, Paula B, Laura G, Rosalyn M, Laura R, Gail B, Leah B, Rebecca S, Ruth S, Christina T, Rachel C and Kirsty McC. Junior Team Last Friday they played in the P.S.N.I. Cross-Community tournament. This tournament is very kindly sponsored by Dungannon P.S.N.I. and played amongst schools in the Cookstown, Dungannon and Fivemiletown areas. Cookstown won all their matches and got to the final where they were met against St. Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon. After a very hard fought game Cookstown emerged the champions (16-12). Junior team: Kirstie McC (capt.), Rachel T, Jessica R, Zara Da, Karen L, Alice M, Rachel C, Chloe McK, Nicola F, Megan S and Alicia F.
