Another Netball Victory!!

CHS’s Senior and Intermediate Netball teams both took part in a cross community netball tournament on Monday 7th November 2005 at Dungannon Leisure Centre. For the 8th Year in sucession this event was kindly sponsored by PSNI Dungannon.

The participating schools were St Joseph’s (Coalisland), St Patricks Academy, St Ciarans (Ballygawley), Fivemiletown High School, Integrated College (Dungannon) and Cookstown High School.

Both the seniors and intermediates played well however it was the seniors who had a particularly successful day.

The seniors defeated St Ciarans 12-6 and St Patricks 13-9 and in the final they again met St Patricks. This was a much tougher match and at half time the High School was losing 5-3. However, they succeeded in turning the match around and after an exicting game emerged victorious winning 7-6.

This is the second tournament win of the year having hosted and won the Cross Border tournament last month. It is the third year in sucession that Cookstown have won this competition and so it is an encouraging start to the season.

Mrs Campbell and the senior team woujld like to thank Intersport Cookstown for their continued support towards the provision of the teams new netball strip.
