Year 12 Careers -Interview Skills Day
posted 14 Nov 05

Year 12 pupils participated in an Interview Skills Workshop period 1- 4 on Friday 11th November. The morning looked at completing application forms, preparation for interviews and interview techniques. The day proved very successful with the Cookstown High School pupils gaining valuable knowledge of the job application process

The programme was organised by the local Business Education Partnership (BEP) and delivered by eight Loughry students for the Communication component of a Masters Degree. Local council representatives attended the photo-shoot. Many complimentary comments were made about the High School pupils, like, ‘This is the best group of pupils we have worked with in this area’, ‘ The pupils are so bright and well behaved’.

Mr Wilson walked into one of the classrooms at the wrong time and had to endure a gruelling interview but was assured by the Loughry student that he would have been successful in applying for the job.

A successful and useful day was enjoyed by all but a special mention must go to the pupils whose hard work and excellent behaviour during the day made the day worthwhile.
